1st Year - (required by all students)
1. Introduction to Potions:
a) The intricacies of timing, ageing, stirring techniques, and bottling.
b) Basic details/demonstration on preparation of the Draught of Living Death, such as what would be created if powdered root of asphodel was added to an Infusion of Wormwood and the difference between Monkshood and Wolfbane.
c) Also covers the 12 uses of dragon blood, the types of cauldrons, and the types of vials used in potion-making.

4. Wiggenweld Potion
– students will be required to collect the necessary ingredients
5. Exam
2nd Year - (required by all students; will focus more on actual potion brewing)
1. Flobberworm Mucous
– there will be an essay assignment over its uses in potions
2. Hair-Raising Potions
3. Sleeping Draught
4. Swelling Solution
5. Exam
3rd Year - (required by all students)
1. Undetectable Poisons
2. Shrinking Solutions – this will be an essay assignment
3. Antidote to Uncommon Poisons
– students will be required to collect the necessary ingredients
4. Girding Potion
– students will be required to collect the necessary ingredients
5. Exam
4th Year - (required by all students)
1. Poison Antidotes (theoretical)
2. Wit-Sharpening Potion
3. Review Girding Potion
4. Professor’s Discretion (surprise! Student suggestions will be taken into consideration)
5. Exam
5th Year– (required by all students; O.W. L. preparation)
1. Properties of Moonstone and its uses in Potion making
– this will be an essay assignment
2. How to Properly Brew Strengthening Solution
– this will be an essay assignment
3. Draught of Peace
4. Calming Draught
5. O.W.L Exam
6th Year – (requires ‘Exceeds Expectations’ or higher on O.W.L)
** these are the kinds of things you should be able to make after completing N.E.W.T.s
1. Mixing Antidotes (including Golpalott’s Third Law)
2. Everlasting Elixirs
– this will be an essay assignment, using 'Advanced Potion Making' textbook
3. Elixir to Induce Euphoria
4. Volubilis Potion
5. Exam
7th Year– (requires ‘Exceeds Expectations’ or higher on O.W.L)
